Leaking lead water main

Any recommendations for plumbers that can fix a basement water main.

Is this an exposed lead pipe in your basement? If so, and it's a pinhole leak, a LIGHT tap with a hammer MIGHT stop it--lead is very soft.

Sorry I can't recommend a plumber--our long time plumber died a couple of years ago.

My guess would be it is against code to install a lead water supply line, so it would be against code for anyone to fix a lead supply line- it has to be replaced.

Matthew Ruggiero Plumbing. Water Mains & Sewers.
Been in Brooklyn for ages. They seem to handle the big jobs.

PlumbingWorks? on Degraw and Van Brunt did ours a few months ago. They were $2,000 less than Ruggiero.
