Incredible Views of New York
Do have a beautiful, interesting, or rapidly changing view out your apartment window? New York photographer Gail Albert Halaban is working on a photography portrait project focusing on New Yorkers and the various interesting, beautiful and striking views they have out their windows. Views DO NOT need to be classically beautiful, we are looking for views that truly represent the varied texture of New York City.
The project is funded by The Design Trust for Public Space, and you can read more about it in an article written for Metropolis Magazine (http://www.metropolismag.com/cda/story.php?artid=3004).
Every participant receives a portrait of themselves and the satisfaction of taking part in a history making art project documenting the contemporary New York landscape.

I don't live there, I've visited only once so I don't have an exact address to provide, but a memorable backyard view is in Sunnyside Queens, where some blocks of rowhouses have that large, shared public lawn in back, just beyond the houses' small private gardens. It's an experiment in creating outdoor living space a century ago in NYC.
