3 Yr. Old in Brooklyn
OK, I know this is not the ideal topic for this forum, but... can anyone recommend activities or programs for 3 year olds in Brooklyn? He's not adapting well in school, so we're looking for alternatives (gymboree is one idea, but that's only 1 day per week).

Where do you live? You'll want to find local programs. That said, here are some general ideas - try asking about any of the below in any local parents forum (park slope parents, brooklyn heights parents, etc. etc.) for specific venues:
(1) music classes
(2) foreign language classes
(3) swim classes
(4) science classes
(5) reading time at local public library
(6) art classes

OP here, yes my location would help! I am in Bay Ridge. My wife is a regular on Bay Ridge parents forum, but I haven't heard any great ideas from them yet.

There's a newish place in Park Slope called "Just Play." They seem to have a bunch of different types of classes and activities. I live nearby and always see the kid and their Moms or Dads walking out of there looking really happy. It's on Sterling right off 7th Ave.

We have a 2 year old, and he attends Music Together, swimming, and reading at the library. Each of the activities last an hour or so per week, and it has a great socializing effect. Playdates help as well. Good luck!

I have heard very good things about the Maple street school but it is a distance from Bay Ridge.... I don't have first had knowledge but it is where i plan to send my child (although we have a ways to go since he is just 4 weeks and they start at age two) but i have heard that they use the park alot to go out and have alot of different activities that are "play learning". Good luck

Try Tiny Tots pre-school in Bay Ridge. It is great!! I went there 40 years ago. I know it's still there. I think it is on 88th or 89th Street between Ridge Blvd and 3rd Avenue.
