Workshop/Woodshop Cooperative in Bklyn?

Anyone know of a workshop/woodshop situtation that I could join part-time? I would like a place to go on weekends that has some power tools and space where I can work on small furniture projects. Happy to pay a monthly fee/rent to have access...

(I currently live in a coop where we can't do loud work, i.e. table saw, on evenings and weekends.)

just found one on my own, but would love any other suggestions or commentary on the one below...

Haven't been by to check it out yet (will report) but looks pretty cool. Over in East Williamsburg. It's space for artisans of all types, and has a woodshop, metal shop, photography studio, etc. You become a member ($30/month for a year) and then you pay as you go. For the woodshop, a one day pass is $50, 5-day pass is $175 and then they have a special pass for $300/month where you get unlimited access to all the shops.

thanks for posting the info on 3rd Ward, this is a great idea, and most likely a very useful facility to many New Yorkers!

I'm looking for the same thing, but closer to Park Slope.

Well, went and checked out 3rd Ward. As a facility it's great. Huge woodshop, metal shop, etc. And since most members make it their full-time gig during the weekdays, it was totally quiet and uncrowded on Sunday when I went to visit.

But it is a bit out of the way (L train is the closest stop).

Anyone into figuring out how we might create one of these closer to the Boerum Hill/Park Slope/Ft Greene neighborhood? I'd be into it. Maybe renting out some work/commercial space in Gowanus?
