Stoop Railings
Are brownstones with their original iron stoop railings more rare than those with the cheap modern (thin iron) replacements? I'm in the market for a house and it seems that most of the houses I see don't have the original railings anymore.

Maybe nobody's commenting because the answer is self-evident.
Of course original railings suffer over time, and are likely to get replaced with something expedient rather than lovingly restored.

This question is no more inane or pointless than many questions on this forum (i.e., are brownstones dark on the inside??? et al). I guess I was looking for a discussion on railings in general since I am new to the subject and have not seen much information on stoops specifically. Anyway, thanks for your considerate reply.
