roof hatch ladders

We have put in a new modern steel roof hatch. Our old ladder is now too short as the roof hatch is raised a little off the roof. Where is the best place to get a new metal ladder (roughly 11-12 ft long)?

We are also thinking of putting it in vertical to free up space. Any issues with this?

Thanks.

NFN must the scuttleway ladder be metal? My original equipment was wood.

Who made your hatch? Did they do a god job? I've been looking for someone to put in a new hatch on my house.
Thanks!

More questions than answers here. I need a new ladder too, but the stairs to my top floor wind and are narrow, so it needs to fold, be an extension ladder or whatever. Anyone know where to get one that is relatively short (say total 12-14 feet) and can be made even shorter to get up stairs?

OP - we got a Bilco hatch (factory made). Well recommended & solid. Dimensions something like 30x36". Easy to open & close.
