Light Fixture: Trash or Treasure?

Light Fixture: Trash or Treasure?

My husband and I are renovating our first co-op apartment. The lighting fixture in the dining room doesn't go with our decor, but because it is a bit unusual we wanted to find out whether it would be worth trying to sell it. What is the best way to find out what, if anything, a piece like this is worth?

I preface what I'm about to say with, I'm no expert on lighting fixtures... but that thing is just plain ooooogly! :) I would fling it!

What is that? My mind can't even comprehend it.

You could always post on Craig's and see if you get any hits.

Not very helpful, but seriously that thing led me to post for the first time here.

I think that thing is going to be in my dreams.

Sorry, but I would use this one as a Pinyata.

Does the original poster have a sense of humor? I hope so. Is this some kind of conceptual art project? The only redeeming quality of that thing is that it is hilarious. Are you sure it is a light fixture? What else does it do ? Is that a horn on the bottom? It looks like a stoneware mug and matching cups. It hangs low enough to do some serious damage. I think I saw one of those in the Imperial War Museum in London.

I think it is great! Perfect for a place in williamsburg. Unique and funny. Is that a pitcher/mug on it? A beer hall beauty. Definitely post it on craigslist and see what offers you get.
Thanks for the fun post.

Crazy DIY chick here, that finds beauty in everything. Yes, it's fugly. However!...If you're creative, you can do things to enhance it and give it kitsch appeal. If you're not creative, put it up on Craigs and let someone else make something wonderful out of it.

I would sell it. YOu can get beautiful fixtures for cheap at seagulllighting outlet.

Ebay.

Worse things are on sale there everyday.
