Installing another radiator
Our garden floor gets very cold near the front windows of our townhouse. What is involved, and roughly how much should it cost, to have an additional radiator installed on the garden floor front of a townhouse, next to another radiator which is not up to the task. We have a steam heat system. Any reccomendations for contractors?

Rather than adding a second radiator, iIt may be easier to change the current radiator for a bigger one.

Does the existing radiator get hot? If not, it may be at the end of the line or connected in such a way that the steam is not making it to the radiator. If this is the case, another radiator will not solve the problem.

You may want to make sure the windows fit and close well, also stop rafts (I use raft stoppers that work great). Insulating may be the answer, and will likely save you a lot of money.
