Entrance Hall Tiles

We are finally nearing the end of our renovation so I am looking at the detailed finishes... I am finding it really difficult to find tiles for my entranceway. Its a small space about 5' x 4' but I want to put in something similar to the victorian tiling we have on the first floor entranceway. Does anyone have any suggestions other then shipping them in from the UK??

Encaustic tiles -- I'm guessing that's what you are referring to -- are available from a couple of U. S. sources. Have you tried searching online? One useful resource listing a wide range of suppliers of speciality old house items is traditional-building.com.

Encaustic Tiles are exactly what I am after. I have searched online and found 2 US suppliers but they stock nothing similar to what we have on our 1st floor. Most online are UK based websites. Thanks for the steer to traditional-building.com. I'll check them out right now...

Try Country Floors on E.16th Street (between Union Square and 5th Ave) in Manhattan. They have a website too, but doesn't compare to what's in the store.

I got my encaustic tiles from Original Style Tile Source. They are manufactured in the UK but the sales office for the US is in South Carolina. David Malk is the rep, very helpful. They do take a long time for delivery.

Thank you everyone - looks like a trip to Manhattan to have a look at Mosaic House and Country Floors will be a worthwhile spend of my time...

Did you locate a source? If so cost info would be much appreciated. I am looking as well.
