Electrical Code Question

Can someone explain electrical code location requirements for:
-Location of light switch in a bathroom—can it be placed on a wall three feet above a bathtub?
-Location of fan switch- can it be placed on a wall three feet above a bathtub?

If not, what are the distance requirements?

Thanks.

twenty four (24) inches from any kitchen and/or bathroom sink(s).

Switches to control the operation of lighting fixtures and/or any other electrically operated device shall not be located and/or installed within four feet (4') of shower stalls, bath tubs, whirlpools, etc.

Is your electrician licensed? If not, that probably explains why he/she didn't know.
