Building Without Permits Excess of FAR

Building Without Permits Excess of FAR

1274 Carroll Street in Crown Heights is in a R2 zone with a FAR of 0.5 as originaly built it already exceeds the FAR by over 2,000 feet.
A permit for minor alterations expired in September, yet the entire building has been demolited except for the front and 2 side walls, they are now installing new joists that appear to be building 4 floors instead of the original 3 + adding an addition on the roof to make it the only 4 floor building on a continuous block of ealy 1900's 3 stories. Building inspectors that have called appear to be blind, yes building only happens towards the end of the day and on Sundays, when there are fewer inspectors on the clock, but you only have to cross the street and look up to see the walls going up on the roof.
The permit is now expired (September) yet the same inspector keeps coming and reports "No One Working at the time of Inspection! Is he blind that he cannot see a difference each time?

Kathryn, You sound like an old hag with too much time on your hands. Mind your own business and get a life

^and guest sounds like an ass.

It is frustrating that real, flagrant code violations are ignored, while the little stuff is sweated all the time.

I for one wish the DOB could get its priorities straight. In its mission to safeguard the public good its a joke, but in its mission to question everything it is very, very good.

Once again, 5:12, you are an ass.
