Black mold problem

We have recently discovered black mold in our basement - can anyone recommend a good clean-up crew?

Places like Serv-Pro charge insanely high prices because homeowners insurance usually covers their work b/c of floods, fire, etc.

I would just hire a local contractor to do it. Because you might have to replace some drywall and wood anyway. Also to ensure the mold doesn't return, run a dehumidifier in the basement all through Spring, Summer and early Fall. It gets very damp down there. We use a dehumidifier and it fills up with a couple gallons of water after only a few hours. And our basement isn't even that damp, relative to others.

I used Habitat Safe Solutions in NYC. I was drawn to the practicality they offered. They were reasonable and above all they offered environmentally safe resolution.
