Avg Heating/Gas for 1 Bedroom Brownstone

Howdy,

Curious if anyone has any solid info on what the Gas utility should run for a 1 bedroom flat in a brownstone. We live in a tight ground floor apt. which does not have a separate gas line so we have to hash out the gas utility w/ our landlord who lives on the other three floors which are not nearly so well insulated. Gas is for boiler, water heater and stove. Any feedback is appreciated.

If your landlord hasn't separately metered your unit, the landlord should just considered it covered in the rent you pay. Most brownstone rentals don't have separately metered heating or hot water, and it is considered covered in the rent you pay. (They do often have a separately-metered line for the stove, as there is a separate stove you use - but if you are using one boiler and one hot water heater for the building, the landlord pays.)

My tenant who resides in a one bedroom ground level brownstone apt. says the bill is between 30 and 35 dollars every other month. The gas is read every other month.
