advice re: living in a temporary apartment
we're selling our old place this month and moving into a temporary space for the next 4 mos while renovations are done on our new place.
how did you handle the mail forwarding situation? our new place is actually close enough to the temporary place such that i could check the mail weekly, but not daily...

For the last two Augusts I've changed my address through the USPS website so that I can get my mail for the duration of a one month vacation rental. I've changed it back a month later. That worked fine, so I'm sure you'll have no trouble for a longer period. However I would not suggest trying to do this in person at the typical chaotic Brooklyn Post Office--the website works well (and there's no one to treat you rudely).
