Who's responsible for Assessments?

Who's responsibility should a coops special assesment fall upon, the shareholders, or alternatively the current occupants, be they renters, subletters, etc. ?

You own, you pay it. Certainly if you have some agreement thought occupant pays all costs (such as if a daughter is living in he rmother's co-op), I cna imagine passing it on to occupant. Nd of course you can always pass it on by raising the rent. But the C-op board is only interested in the owner.

The responsibility for payment of an assessment falls upon the shareholder.

PutnamDenizen spells it all out correctly...
co-op board only deals with the shareholder when it comes to collecting maintenance, assessments etc.
