structural engineer needed asap

Can anyone recommend a structural engineer? During demolition of our second floor apartment (in 4 story building), we discovered that the dumbwaiter walls appear to be load-bearing for the dumbwaiters in the two apartments above us. We had intended to remove the dumbwaiter entirely and now need to figure out a way to do this (if possible) while supporting the dumbwaiter walls above.

Comments

Can I have it? I'd *love* to have a dumbwaiter in my house, maybe I could even use it.

Seriously though, why would you want to destroy such a cool part of your apt's history?

Robert Silman is an engineer, not an expediter.

RSD Engineering is a very good candidate.

They helped restore 475 Washington Ave (@ Gates Ave.) in the 80's.
