Mosquitos

We got 'em. Hordes of the biting buggers in our backyard. Seeing as how none of them seem to cause any trouble on the street, I was quite surprised to find so many back there. Tips on how to ameliorate? No obvious standing pools of water.

wow - you shouldn't still have hordes of them, just a few. This summer I used one of those blue zappers and let it run all through the night every night. I do think it reduced the overall number...

Mosquitos are very localized creatures - they typically only travel around 100 yards from where they are born. You must have standing water nearby in a neigbor's yard or something like our freakin idiot neighbor who has a great pool but refuses to take care of it and lets it turn into a voracious mosquito brothel and breeding sanctuary.

Best advice is to wear bug spray with deet, and avoid the yard between 5 and 8 PM when they are most active. In a few weeks after some cold nights they should all be gone.

Oh, we also have some narly spiders that we encourage and support in our yard. They seem to nail at least a few dozen on any given day.

Hello. I have had success using a devise called Thermacell, which is like a lighter which burns a special repellant chemical pad. We also have a humongous spider which we encourage to dine.
Good luck.
