Kitchen Cabinet Knobs & Pulls / Water-marked Counter-top?

Can anyone inform me if there really is a mastery of installing kitchen cabinet knobs and pulls? Here I thought that anyone can drill a hole?
Another question..... I recently began to notice that water marks are left on my new granite counter-top. They do disappear within a 1/2 an hour, but does this mean that the counter-top wasn't sealed?

Anyone can drill a hole. Putting it in the correct place each and every time requires skill. You should be able to buy a template for pulls at HD or Lowes. The template will have a lot of holes in it. Select the holes you need to drill and tape off all the others. The expression "measure twice" also applies to drilling.

If your counter is honed granite, the installers should have given it a generous bath with liquid silicone or another penetrating sealer.

Measure carefully, TWICE and make a dimple with an awl or nail set so that your drill bit doesn't skitter around.
