Johnson Pocket Door Hardware

Are they any good? I am looking to replace the hardware from our pocket doors and hang them instead of having them roll on the floor. I saw on BedStuy Reno they bought hardware from Simon's in the city, but they seem expensive. Does Johnson hardware for pocket doors get the job done?

Check out Charleston Hardware Co., they are under the radar company with beautiful reproductions. I bought all my pocket door stuff from them.

I guess by hardware I meant the actual track and hanging mechanism as opposed to doorknobs and latches, though that is what you call door hardware.

I install pocket doors all the time. I only use Johnson tracks & hardware. They work great and they're so quiet!

Are they substantial enough to handle the weight of original parlor floor pocket doors?

Stop and think about how you are going to install the track inside a pocket frame(if you have one) before you do anything! L.E. Johnson is probably the best hardware there is for pocket hardware and has many styles for different applications. Go to their website for more info.
If the door is already installed in a pocket frame, and you aren't planning on ripping out the drywall on at least one side(which would give you access to install new track) you may need to leave the existing floor track. You could replace the rollers only, try Hafele or P.C. Henderson.
