Installing an Outside Water Spiget
Hi Brownstoners,
I am buying a garden floor condo in a 4 unit building and I recently noticed that there is no outside water spiget to attach a hose.
Anyone ever had something like this installed - I imagine they will need to run pipes, etc. so I am not sure if it is going to be worth the expense.
Any insight, pricing, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

If the outside wall where you want the spigot has your kitchen or a bathroom on the other side of it in the interior, it should not be very expensive to have an extension put in for a hose.

Thanks - But actually the Kitchen is on the other side of the unit and the bathroom is seperated by at least 1 interior wall and small room. I imagine it will require the opening of walls to run pipes.

We did this. If you are on the ground floor, they can run the pipes up from the cellar... and through the hatch or crawl space.. it cost us about $200 but we have a very nice plumber..

Thanks Crown - Can you recommend your plumber by any chance?
Thanks!

We had Aladdin Plumbing do it for us. They cut the line from the basement plumbing for the laundry, out the exterior brick wall. Didn't take long. It's not that complicated.
Aladdin Plumbing is very expensive though, and the owner never goes to job sites, he just has his workers take photos then a week or two later the secretary calls with a quote. We would normally not find this acceptable, but we didn't have time to deal with getting someone else, and our regular, lower priced plumber was not available all Summer.
