Getting grease out of bluestone

my tenant put in a grill in the bluestoned back yard and in short order created two puddles of grease which have stained the stone. Dish soap didn't do a thing. Any suggestions for removal? Thanks....

A liberal application of mineral spirits, vigorous use of a scrubbing brush, and rinsing off with a water hose. Repeat as necessary.

I used a Magic Erasure on EVERYTHING. Just give that a try

What about Oxyclean? It's effective, and it's safer ecologically. So is baking soda. Try just scrubbing it with baking soda.

There is something you can get at home depot (can't remember the name) that removes stains from marble. I think it is a powder and it actually sucks the stain right out of the stone. might require a few applications.

You can try talcum powder covered in plastic. It should help pull the grease out of the stone.

put some oxyclean or baking soda in your tenants hair and scrub the stain out with it... ;-)

The aptly-named Mrs. Limestone is the only suggestion I see working, though you should make a paste of it. This article on poultices and stone will help you figure out the right ingredients (this also applies to leaching stains out of marble countertops etc). It works.

If you put lestol on the stain and let it sit a bit then take a hose to wash it down the stain will come out.

Have your tenant get down on their knees
and lick the stone clean. PLease note that this process will probally take some time and
could result in your tenants tongue wearing out. Should prove to be not much of a loss
as yout tenant does not sound to be of one with a brain. Good luck!!!

Getting past the much needed humor why don't
you try and flip the stones if they are not
locked in via masonary.Oil penetrates very
deep and soap or chemical cleaners will deal
with the immediate surface. The oil beneath will continue its journey via gravity to the
bottom.
