60 St. Mark's Avenue Listing
Just wondering what people thought about this new listing in Park Slope, although isn't it really Prospect Heights? Would the construction chaos from AY affect your quality of life if you lived there? It seems kind of close to the construction site. It looks pretty nice on the inside, though, and it's a 1 family configuration.

There's an open house on this place, Sunday. From the photos, it looks like a nice place, but who ever really knows. I don't know Park Slope very well - is that a nice part of the neighborhood?

I would hold off until more information comes out about AY. Also, most likely for that price you can get a better location in Park Slope (meaning away from Atlantic Ave. and AY).

Terrific area and block.
You are right near 5th avenue, which has become one of the best shopping and restaurant strips in Brooklyn.
Dare I say, THE best.

While the interior is beautiful and seems totally renovated, it is way too close to the AY footprint so that you'll be dealing with overspill congestion issues from the construction site, definitely. For this reason, this house should be priced at least 25% lower.

Don't listen to the AY troll/s.
There is some loon that comes on every thread saying that AY will decrease property values.
The majority of the anti AY crowd actually believe the opposite and it was a large part of their gripes with the project in the first place.
Some crazy is trying desperately to cause panic so that those years he spent smokin weed instead of working will somehow now reap him the benefit of lower house prices.
This house will most certainly increase in value after very high end luxury high rises are built.

While I happen to think AY will actually increase property values in the long run, in the short run you have to deal with the practical issues involved in living so close to a major construction site, period. It's that simple.

But you will have to deal with the traffic, people and general pollution forever. Visit MSG on a game night to get a feel for what it will be like.
