renovation

<"Small Renovation In Question"="">

I live in a tenament style condo building and am considering making some changes to a 9x10 room and to a 5 x 6 bathroom.

The extent of the work is follows: my ceilings are currently dropped to 8 feet. SO I'd like to raise the ceilings in the bathroom and small room leaving the ceiling beams visible (sheetrocking between beams); gut renovate the bathroom, removing the tub, installing a shower stall with a hingeless door and 3 recessed lights and a hanging light.

To the small room (in addition to raising the ceiling) I'd like to move the entrance door, build a closet along one wall with floor to ceiling doors (the wall against which the closet would be built is brick and will be left as is), install 4 recessed lights and shelves against one wall.

In addition, I would like to have 2 additional doors reframed from 84 inches high to 93 inches to match the 2 other doors in the same hall.

The quotes I have been getting to do this work are wildly different and very confusing. What is a fair or realistic cost for this work?
