plaster workers

so how much do you think skim coat plaster is worth - is 25/hr per guy okay..ie..2 guys for 8 hrs a day comes out to 400 a day for basic skim coat plaster work with minor repair - too much or good deal? let me know your thoughts - what have you paid for skim coats

Comments

How big is the room/area to be skim-coated? We did a small bedroom (8'x14') walls and ceiling for $300 -- one guy, one day solid plus a few hours the next day to touch up -- and we provided all materials, which came to about $80. So your quote sounds fair.

if you need a plasterer i'd contact Lloyd Campbell at 718.404.6242. He recently completely replastered then skim-coated our 2 bedroom apartment with extensive trim and molding, after we had the electrical rewired (which put about 200-300 holes in the walls and ceilings throughout apartments), and now it looks brand-new. He's also very reasonable.

I also paid $25/hr for this kind of work, which seems reasonable--skim-coating is a real skill!
