Perfect Renovation?
We are about to embark on a bathroom renovation. Has anyone used Perfect Renovation? Could you please share results/impressions? And if you were pleased with the work?
Also, if you have another contractor/designer you have been pleased with do share.
Many thanks.

Not a good experience here.
I spoke to Nadav (owner) and said I was interested in a kitchen and bath remodel. He sent out a designer to take measurements and tried to charge me a $250 consultation fee for the designer's time. We had a nice screaming match on the phone when I said that I'd had other design/build firms out (My Home, Knockout Renovation) and was never charged, and if he were going to charge me he should have made that clear up front. Heck, I've had ARCHITECTS out who make a lot more per hour than a random kitchen designer, and they have never charged for a consultation. I found the whole thing to be underhanded, dishonest and hard-sell.
I got very good vibes from Knockout Renovation - the owner Keith was prompt about returning calls, knowledgeable, and didn't sneer at the size of the job. If we had gone ahead with the reno, Knockout would have been my choice.

I used Fritz to do our bathroom and it worked out very very nice thanks in no small part to his eye for details - he has a small company in Bay Ridge and does most of the work himself. If you call him say Bree from
East Second St. says Hello! His number is 347 419 0023.

I live in cobble hill and hired Perfect Renovation to work on my townhouse last year. I am extremely happy with the design they provided - It was quick, original and now that I have lived in the space for a while I can say it is proves to be very functional. They did a great job on the construction, I have had bad experiences with this part in the past. They insisted on working by the book and I appreciated that they walked me through all the stages so I always knew what was coming next. It was comfortable to work with one local company that provided both the design and the construction services in one - I would say definitely go with them.

Avoid them.
We had numerous problems with PR. Most notoriously, they undertook roofing work for which they were not qualified (...as I have since found out at great expense and aggravation).
They also were sloppy around the building: tripping circuit breakers, leaving a trail of black spots and stinky chemicals on the stairwell carpet, smoking in the building after they had been told not to, etc., all the while denying that it was them.
As to Nadav, he failed to stand behind his work and gave us nothing but runaround.

My advice is to AVOID them. I had an extremely bad experience with Perfect Renovation back in 2005. They did horrible job in renovating a one-bedroom apartment in our brownstone. I only wish that I took pictures. The best of the worst of their work was leaving a sizable bulge in the center of a newly tiled wall in the bathroom. We ending up paying out another $7,000 to have the work re-done on the bad job they did.
They did not communicate well and refused to re-do work executed poorly. I would continue your search to find an alternative.

Being a novice homeowner, I stupidly signed their contract for a consultation. (Don't do it!!!) They took measurements and I sent them the cash. After my girlfriend and I understood the process, we decided to go in another direction (i.e-cheaper than a lot of money per hour). Needless to say, it took a lot of work to get our money back and they took a significant chunk of it for about an hour of measuring
Thankfully, we were introduced to a pretty cool architect who guided us through the process and introduced us to a solid contractor. Call Jimmy 917-627-7156
