molding restoration help
I would like to hire a consultant to help me restore and/or select historically appropriate period moldings (ceiling medallions, wall panels, baseboards, etc.) for my 1838 townhouse. Anyone know of any individuals or firms who do this kind of work?

try Brent Hull at Hull Historical Moldings (817 332 1495). He's written a few books cataloging the millwork used in the 19th Cent.

There is a carpenter, who with a partner has a millshop in the Brooklyn Navy yard. He works on landmark buildings in Brooklyn and is working on copying historical moldings in my house and reproducing them in my vestibule. He is rebuilding my the front doors of my brownstone as well. He is very meticulous and has done a number of houses in Brownstone Brooklyn, in some cases completely replicating moldings.
His name is Omar and his number is
646-541-3409.
He has a website with pictures of his work.
