fencing/wall for backyard

I would like to have a fence or wall built around my backyard. Currently I have ugly chainlink. Hate it. I have looked at all kinds of fencing and ideally would like a brickwall (cost?). If that is way too much, I have also considered wood/cedar and the plastic fencing. Two things, hate what they have at Home Depot and Lowe's. I'd like something more attractive in either wood or in the plastic stuff. Another problem is I may not be able to get the wood panels through the house, so I may have to have something built on site if it is wood or go with the plastic. If I go with the plastic, I want some air to pass through and I'd like something attractive, around 4-6 ft tops with possible a lattice at the top or long horizontal slats. Has any one had any experience with anything like this? Can they recommend someone to build either a brick wall, a cedar fence or a good place with a large selection of plastic fencing options?
Thanks!

Amendolas on LI - I got 4' board on board, with a 2' lattice with 4inch squares (not 2"). The put the lattice together with the board part when they install so they can bring the pieces through the door. They did a great job - one day-4-5 workers, from early in the morning till about 7 in the eve. You will need to decide whether you want the fence to align across the top or have a step down if your yard slopes.
