Can anyone recommend good brokers in CH/FG?
Good brokers in Clinton Hill/Fort Greene area?
We are thinking of selling our condo, but after having dealt with a horrible broker (Minsky), we want to be careful who to use to help sell our condo. We refuse to use Corcoran group so that's out. We had dealt with Jim Rigney before and he seemed okay, but read some negative comments about him in another forum (and never dealt with Douglas Elliman/Prudential before). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Angela Ferrante at Brown Harris Stevens. She is great and I even think that after meeting her as a sellers broker in a purchase.

I completely agree about Angela. She is very professional and a lovely person. I tried to buy a house which she had listed and it didn't work out in the end, but have maintained a connection with her.
Good luck.

Mike McGrath of Brooklyn Properties. We bought our house from him, and he really was 50% of the reason we are happily renovating it and about to move in -- because it was a tough process and he was a deal-saver.
But that's from the buyer's perspective.
I guess just call him up or visit him at their offices and see if you get the same sense of competence and graciousness from him that we did.
His number is: 718 532 1234
Good luck!

I have to add my voice to the chorus of people singing Angela Ferrante praises.

I haven't dealt with Angela, but I recently worked with Brown Harris Stevens agent and was very impressed with the service.

what was up with tanned fit super-smarmy super-broker minsky?

He is pretty broadly disliked. Why?

I recently bought in Brooklyn and the seller's agent was Jeffery Welch at BHS. He was a great guy and a really helpful broker. Highly recommended.

Screw brokers. Be a man and list FSBO.
Price a bit low and you'll get multiple offers.
Price too high and it'll sit around and get stale as old bread.
Why pay commission? Throw one open house and show by appointment at your convenience.

Why is Minsky broadly disliked? He is truly a horse's ass, that's why. I met him once - a Corcoran broker took me to a property and he greeted me by demanding to know why I wanted to see THAT property (my broker thought I'd like it????) and that it was totally inappropriate for what I wanted. I was with him for about an hour most of which he talked about himself, his success, his various prizes at Corcoran, his interests, his intellectual bent (???). I was completely unimpressed. In fact I had dealings with 4 Corcoran brokers for different things and the only one worth his salt was Michael Coleman, (specializes in coops in Brooklyn Heights). The rest of them, phooey. Also, Minsky routinely overprices. Way overprices. A serious disservice to sellers.
Oh, and I am not a broker, just a Fort Greener who bought a wreck from Fillmore.

Thanks for all the response. I will inquire about all the recommendations thus far.
8:58PM said it best, Minksy is a snake that loves to boast how he has 20 years of experience doing this and blah blah blah. We purchased a condo last year and the deal just dragged on and on. We were pretty upset about it and when we talked to our attorney about cancelling the deal, Minsky got word and called my wife and yelled at her. He made her really upset and then threaten to sue us (LOL). After that, I decided NOT to talk to him at all (even in person, I am not going to acknowledge some a-hole who made my wife cried) and he got all childish about.
At the closing, he was late and pretended he didn't know when it was. Then he acted like a complete ass (got on a phone call and talked very loudly about his multimillion dollar deals). Even the seller's lawyer said he hated dealing with him (and my own lawyer, who is very old schooled, was shocked at his behavior). Basically, he made a complete fool out of himself in front of EVERYONE.
The funny thing is, he emailed my wife a month later about getting the said condo listed under his name. What a complete nut job.
Basically, I will never use Corcoran group and Minsky is one of the worst human beings I have ever dealt with.
