Any views on Vulcan Waterproofing?
Has anyone had any experience with Vulcan Waterproofing? I am considering using them to install drainage pipes and a sump pump in my basement. Their quote was very reasonable, and the man who inspected my basement certainly seemed to know what he was talking about. Any views gratefully received.

I have not used them but noticed that they received good reviews on Angie's List (I was researching these things during the rains a few weeks ago)

Listen to you.
You sound like you work for them yourself.
Maybe you'll get a raise this time :)

I don't work for them, I couldn't care less, just answering someones question. Angies list has helped me sort out a couple of times who to hire, so if anything I was probably promoting that sight. I happen to be someone renovating a house and in desperate need of info most of the time. I thought this was a format for letting people know what they might know about renovations etc... And, I have not used Vulcan myself like I said.

Its like an AA meeting with you all under the cloke of darkness, why dont you use your real names so everyone know whats up with the legits. I used Vulcan and they do what they said, but a little over budget cause I asked them to do the pantry wall too.

I just had the guy come by last night to quote a french drain/sump pit in our finished basement. The only ding I've heard against them is that they prescribe only one thing - the trench/pit - no matter what problem you describe. This doesn't bug me, since that's what I was looking for anyway. The quote seemed reasonable, he said it would only take a day, which is great. He also said it didn't matter how many (1-3) walls I did, it was the same price, which was a nice surprise.
I posted last week with the same question, and the only other suggestion was AllRenovation (ad on this page), but I think I'm probably going to go with Vulcan. I'll report back to the Forum when it's done, but that won't be for another month or so. Good luck (and good luck to all of us with leaky basements)!

I USED them 3 years ago to install a french drain at my home in Commack. I am very pleased with the job. They weren't the cheapest, but their price was ok. They did the job fast and very neatly, considering I had jack hammers going all day.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. Feedback on Vulcan from this site, Angie's list and elsewhere has been overwhelmingly positive (not perfect, but positive) so I think I will go with them. I will report back on this site after the work is done.
