Where to Buy Furniture
Hello folks
Im new to NY and just purchased a 1 BR coop in Brooklyn, Its around 700sqft so by no means big..But I would like to start looking and buying some furniture.
I know Ikea is popular here but for bedroom and living space furniture tthey're not really the best place. I prefer multiple looks so a wide variety is preferred.
Does anyone have any ideas where to get good quality New furniture at good prices. I dont mind buying online either
Thanks

Room & Board has a store in SOHO - their catalogue is on line also. Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel . . . West Elm . . .

This may sound old fashioned, but I love Ethan Allen. The stuff will last forever, and they have many different styles that will always look good.

I'm with #1..... Room and Board has great stuff. The prices are a liittle higher than Ikea, but it won't collapse on you. Also, hit Mitchell Gold, they have a showroom at ABC Carpet on Broadway. Their prices are really reasonable.
If you want to stay local, try B. Moore Design and Rico on Atlantic Ave. B.Moore, can be pricey, but the stuff is gorgeous and the staff is delightful.

Try Bo Concepts in Dumbo. Great looking contemporary pieces.

There's a big vintage and antique furniture store on 5th Avenue in Park Slope, somewhere like around 13th St? Ugh, can't remember. But it's big and it's on the west side of 5th Avenue. Some of their ornate antiques are pricey but I got a couple mid-century pieces there for good prices.

well , i recommend looking in those suggested stores and then ordering direct from the manufacturers in North Carolina. Try Rose or Furnitureland South...both on the web. You just need to get the make and model/style of the furniture you see and give them .You can get your furniture at a great price. You might have to wait a few weeks but worth the savings. My sister ordered a 16,000 dining room set she saw at Huffman Koos right before they went out of business. It cost 16,000 and she got it for $7000 ordering direct. Good luck!!!

What do you like? It's so hard to give recommendations without knowing your taste.
