its been whitewashed!!!
well actually it hasn't quite yet but am interested in your opinion. We want to get an exposed brick wall painted but are concerned about trapped moisture issues (albeit on a brownstone shared inside wall) so were looking at alternatives like whitewash and american clay plaster... Has anyone any experience with either of these applications? Any downsides for maintenance or health? THANKS.

What about one of the environmentally friendly paints that are clay-based? I bet those breathe well enough for brick walls.
