Flood Insurance
this may be a really dumb question, but does a brownstone homeowner need flood insurance in Park Slope? I can't imagine why, but thought I'd check.
(Clearly, I'm a new homeowner!)
Thx for any insight.

Flood insurance covers groundwater damage.
Look back a while when we had the big Noreaster earlier in the summer and you'll see why.
Everybody's basements were flooded.

You can pay for flood insurance but can you collect?
For that you have to ask questions and read the fine print.

You don't have to own waterfront property to need flood insurance. You can get a policy that covers either building & contents, or contents-only. The coverage is quite inexpensive and could be well worth it in the event of a flood situation. Please give Patti a call at (516) 484--5200 and she will be glad to help you with any of your insurance needs for your home.
