Cool roof coating?
Our coop is investigating re-coating our flat roof with a reflective paint which is supposed to help keep the building cooler, save energy and increase overall roof life. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

It's called a "white roof". I don't know of any coatings per se, but you can get a new white rubber membrane roof. If you hire a roofer or LEED certified architect, they should know what to do.

There is a simple silver paint at HD or LW for 70 $a pale that will do the trick, get your Handyman to do it on a weekend.

I applied a silver coating to my flat roof some years ago and am planning to re-coat now. I hear that white is a better reflector than silver. You have to read the specs and directions first. Since I'm going to do it myself I'll go for the high-price spread, white, because there is NO MIXING! Worth the price.
What's this with hiring someone to do it for you?
