Break through wall and install door off parlour fl - recommendations ?
We will soon create a deck off of the parlour foor. We would like to install it in the existing window frame. However we need to find someone to break through the exiting wall, as the long window was closed up partially by a previous owner. We would also like this person to install a new door to the deck.
Can anyone provide a recommendation who is reasonable priced, who could do this job ?

I commend you on how simple you made this sound; you will in fact need permits for changing structure..that is more likely a supporting wall thus you may need architectual plans drawn up to make such change and to get such permit..you will also need a contractor/home improvement company to file said plans and do said work..This is definitely not handyman territory unless they really know what there doing..
Dont go too cheap as you may end up causing more damage to the existing structure and you will want this to look professional..Once that hole is there its there..and it will never look as natural from the outside again(especially if its a brick exterior)
Search for recommendations for GC or construction..youll get plenty of hits..be wary of those touting some specific company..as many companies post for themselves here..look for a wide range of recommendations...on different posts an get many quotes..good luck

OP: Thanks. I wish I could get a recommendation for a reasonably priced GC who has already done this. There are many GCs out there and this work seems quite common in Brownstone Brooklyn. Any recommendations would be apprecieated.
