Garden questions: Too late for bulbs

I have some caladium, calla lilly, and lilly bulbs I ordered awhile back and they have just arrived. Is it too late to plant them this year, will they bloom? Thanks for any advice

You can plant the lily bulbs anytime, if they are Asiatics they may still bloom this year, if they are Orientals, probably next year. The callas and caladiums are not winter-hardy so they should probably go in pots anyway. The caladium will probably come up this year and if the callas have not bloomed by the end of summer, bring them indoors.

It is too late to plant them to bloom this year but you can force them by simulating winter by placing them in a cold dark place for a few weeks.

I think the caladiums will come up. They don't have flowers anyway so no worries with blooming. Not sure about the lilies.

Maybe search forums at http://www.gardenweb.com or go to http://www.lilies.org for info.
