Marble Threshold for Front Door
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement marble threshold for my front door? The original piece is there but its broken and fractured. Not sure if im calling it by the correct name but it is the piece of marble step that goes under the front doors of a brownstone. The double doors bolt into the marble. Thanks for any leads.

It's called a door saddle. There are numerous references to stone fabricators in the postings on this site. I don't have any experience with them, but you can search the archives.

I just posted to another question about marble fabricators. I am using Key Tile and Stone on Third Ave between 15th and 16th St in Brooklyn. Have gotten great pricing and service. They are making a custom saddle for my bathroom. I am using granite for the saddle though because it is much stronger and less prone to crack than marble. Granite comes in many colors so you can probably match your old saddle color.

yeah, it's a saddle. You would think because it's marble that makes it all fancy, but in fact they stock tons of them at Ye Olde Home Depot. If the seating is flat and you don't drop a floor safe on it, it should outlast you and prolly your kids, too. Although, I'll admit, granite is super nice looking and wears like a pig's nose.
