Cost of Garden Installation

My husband and I have been thinking about having our backyard re-done: 23Wx42L. Right now it's just patchy grass, without a proper patio. We'd like a patio (we're open to flagstone or extending the cement) and a small sitting area in back, with the rest partially landscaped and grassed over. I'm not interested in doing any of this myself. Can anyone give me an idea of the costs involved? I've been hearing everything from 9k to 15k. What do you think is reasonable?

Remember drainage too. Like add a drywell or french drain under or near your cement patio. Or put sand, then gravel, then flagstone laid on top which will drain better than cement. And have them check the grade of your yard before cementing it and planting it. Because otherwise you get a lake in your backyard that will eventually get into the house in a bad storm. Anyway, we spent $5,600 on new cement in back with new drywell, new hatch and patio. That's with no new landscaping or flowerbeds added to the yard yet. Our Brooklyn neighbor, Pall Walton and his wife Jen Scanlin do lovely gardens and are great people, they are at pall.walton@verizon.net

Here's what we spent on 17x40 ft yard that was half concreted. No drain type work; but we have 300 sqft of blustone paving and a small bricked area in addition to beds.
Concrete removal: 950
Fence(1/2),blustone,bricks,topsoil,etc: 3000
Plants 1200
Design fee 1200
Labor 3000
