When and hat to plant in flower boxes?
Is it too early to plant flower boxes with annuals? What would you suggest (since it's the north side I usually go with the old impatiiens)
Thanks!

Yes, it's too early for annuals - wait until after Mother's Day for annuals. It's NOT too early for bulbs, though: try daffodils or Tet-A-Tet's (smaller narcissus) or even tulips from your Farmer's Market or Green Grocer. Violets and Pansies should be okay, too.

I agree with the above post. Anything planted now needs to be hardy and able to handle cold weather. I'm itching to plant now, but am going to stick to my mom's May 1st guideline.
I find that impatiens are the first to die in a cold snap.
