Thermostatic Radiator Valves
Does anyone know a supplier for thermostatic radiator valves?
Also, are there any brands that are particularly good?
I have a 1 pipe steam system.
I've googled it and most of the suppliers that come up are in England (I guess they use steam heat more than here in the US).

Gateway installed Danfoss in my house.
I'm guessing any decent plumbing supplier could get them.

Ps: I got both Armstrong and Macon, afaik they are both fine (3 years). Just as easy to install, though you may need a plug for Macon, was not shipped with. Make sure you get both the body (which screws into the radiator) and the thermostatic sensor/element, which is sold separately.

OP here.
11:53 - how much did the install cost and how many radiators do you have?

You can easily do it yourself. I did not even have to use compound or tape, the threads were leak-proof. Unit cost is about $65.
Unscrew the air vent (the torpedo shaped thing,) replace with the valve body, screw the air vent on the body, screw the sensor unit into the body. 5 minutes tops.
Do not replace too many vents or you'll mess up the balance. I replaced 4 out of 8 in a triplex.
Previous post lost, url to buy is : Armstrong http://www.armstrong-intl.com/common/allproductscatalog/thermostaticvalves.pdf [ RV-4 ] another:

Thanks.
Also what are the pros and cons of the different types of sensors - liquid, liquid remote & low density wax?
