Custom iron $$$?
Hello all,
I am looking into getting custom security bars made for my windows, and I just got a quote of $1000 for a flat grill, $1300 for a grill with an A/C cage, and $1400 for a fire escape (openable) grill. My windows are about 3.5' by 9', but my design is not very complicated at all (basically just 8" by 9" squares with a few curved pieces at the very top) so I'm in a bit of shock. (I have 11 windows total, so this adds up to a good chunk of change.)
So, for those of yoou you've had iron work done, does this seem high to you? And if so, can you recommend anyone i should speak to who might be able to do this job well but more affordably?

Try Petrillo Ironworks at 718 254-0333 for some comps. He has done a lot of work for me in the past. Always fair prices and good workmanship.
