Electrical Outlet Making Sounds?
As I was replacing a cover on the electrical outlet behind my tenant's stove I heard a popping sound coming from the outlet or just behind the box. Nothing was plugged into the outlet and there was no smoke or anything, just a distinct metal click or pop that came straight from the outlet area. My tenant said sometimes she hears that noise and thought it was the freezer. We had our house rewired last year. Does anyone have any suggestions about what this might be.
Thanks!

ok .. first thing you do . locate the circuit breaker and shut the circuit off . After your 100 % it's off remove the cover then the receptacle . Check to see if the electrician's put electrical tape around the rec. if not then put it yourself . See if there's any black burn marks on the rec. or in the box itself . If there is then the rec. was touching the metal part of the box or the wire itself is broken . If I were you I would replace the receptacle . If it happens again then call an electrician
