A service to clean/polish old parquet floors (I can't do it myself--I'm moving on Friday!)
Does anybody know of a service that will come out and clean the heck out of an old parquet floor, and then wax it (or Rejuvenate it, or some such)? Thanks to Bob Marvin, Tad, and others for suggestions on how to do it yourself when I posted the other day, but I have about 13,000 pounds of personal possessions (that's a real number) about to be hoisted into a truck by burly men, and I can't make the time to clean up four floors in a townhouse! I mean, of all possible services needed in an old Brooklyn house, wouldn't this sort of rank right up there? Help!!!!! Thanks, all.

Might as well sand and poly
You will regret it if you don't

So are you selling the house/apt you need the floors cleaned in? If so totally skip sanding unless you don't have an offer yet. If you are keeping the place I totally agree with sanding & poly-ing the floors.

I'm taking you at your word: you want them cleaned and polished! My only advice is see if there is an apartment bldg on your block and ask the super. Most of these guys do this sort of thing for a decent price and they'll have the buffer too.
