If he did indeed pick up a Mexican from Northern Blvd, then there's nothing racist about it, unless you want to get into a much more detailed discussion as to why hardworking people who weren't lucky enough to be born here have to resort to standing on the street looking for per diem construction work. But I'm guessing you're just being a PC jerk.

There's nothing wrong with saying "Mexican"...
Unless the Mexican was really from Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Cuba or some other latin american country.
Did he identify his nationality? Did he show you his passport?

Oscar: Both my parents were born in Mexico, and they moved to the United States a year before I was born, so I grew up in the United States... my parents were Mexican.
