Exterior Bstone Front Doors
We are in the midst of a gut renovation of
our c. 1863 Brownstone in Boerum Hill and need desperately to replace the front doors (parlor level) to the house, hopefully with a pair of salvaged doors from the same era. I've identified Olde Goode Things and Demolition Depot locally. Does anyone know of other good sources (local?) of exterior doors which would be relevant to the Brooklyn brownstone aesthetic? Thanks much.

What size doors do you need? I have an original pair of front parlor doors that I have plans on stripping & selling. They are in great condition and look to be cherry under the paint. They are big. Each one is 8 feet tall and 2 feet wide with the original 1 inch beveled glass. It has an old brass mail slot too. Once these are refinished they will look fantastic. You can reach me at bottlecap@mindspring.com for more information.

Recycling the Past on the Jersey shore has a good selection, good prices, and has a source for doing the refinishing. Check out www.recyclingthepast.com. They are not exactly "local" but you can make a day of it and go to the beach. Plus they are very nice people. They will deliver if you give them enough leadtime.
