bathroom exhaust

i live in a frame house with pitched/shingle roof. i'm reshingling the roof with tear off and since the top floor bathroom has no exhaust fan i thought it would be the ideal time to install one. the bathroom is apprx about 10x20' and has a shower stall, jacuzzi, and toilet. i know that it's not required to have an exhaust fan in the bathroom if there is a window but i thought it would be nice to have one anyway especially since in the winter time we keep the window open to let out the exhaust. my electrician recommended that i should just exhaust it into the attic/crawl space because i don't have steam shower and the humidity from the shower is negligence. this is in lieu of exhausting it outside. does this seems right? i'm concern that his method may lead to moisture buildup or mold inside the crawl space. would love to hear your thoughts.

It does not sound right. According to the code the bathroom should be vented to the outside for fireproofing reasons.
Your bathroom is quite big so it’s up to you, but it’s very common for the steam from the regular shower to condensate on the ceiling leading to mold issues and ruined paint jobs.
Since you’re re-shingling, it’s very easy to add a roof vent with proper flashing. Go for it!
Good luck, Mike

You definitely should not do this; moisture in a home is the enemy. Vent it outside. If you want confirmation, ask a carpenter or contractor--they're the ones who have to repair moisture damage, not electricians.
