Big beautiful Victorian in Ditmas Park area

Does anyone know anything about this house on 2325 Glenwood? It is huge and gorgeous and has been on the market for months and months. Is there something wrong with it, or is it the location? The price is amazing.

I'm thinking about it. It's much too big for me, but what else can I afford for that price!

I got the address wrong -- it's 2235 Glenwood.

I live a few blocks away and pass this house occassionally. I believe it has been on the market for a while and has priced down. My wife and I looked at a much nicer house around the corner on East 23rd street 2 years back for 100K less. But decided that for us, this side of Ocean Ave. is a little isolated. Having said that, the price reflects the fact- and values in this area keep going up. "Steps to train" is probably not as truthful as it could be. The house is about equidistant from the b/q at Newkirk Ave and the 2/? on the other side of Brooklyn College (7-8 blocks). Express bus to Manhattan stops 2 blocks away. There's a school right across the street, as well as the college. Glenwood is not a terribly busy road, but then, it's definitely not as quiet as the numbered streets in the neighborhood. Also, I remember thinking as I passed it one time- "Looks alot better in pictures than it does in person."

I think its a bargan...Think of the price per square foot. That house is probably, what, 3000 sq feet? In Manhattan that house would be 3 million....Park slope, 1.5-2 million. I think Victorian Flatbush is still the best deal in NYC.

But that's precisely the drawback, it's not in Manhattan, and it's not in Park Slope! :) It does seem to be far from subway stops.

I still wonder why it's priced lower than others in the neighborhood. And why it's been on the market for at least 6 months. Anyone know about the infrastructure?
