FreshDirect - forgot to allow comments

What do people think about putting together a list/petition to present to Freshdirect indicating that there is a sizable number of people who want them to deliver to Bedford-Stuyvesant? They probably wouldn't care... Feel free to e-mail me if you have any ideas/thoughts. maconstreet@gmail.com

There's a place on their site where you can sign up to receive an e-mail when they start delivering to your area. Try to get as many of your neighbors to sign up as you can. This is one way they look to see who is most interested in getting their service (at least that's what they told me during the year I bugged them relentlessly to deliver to CH).

FG/CH launched a phone/email blitz to get Fresh Direct and it worked. Supposedly there is a threshold of emails that gets their attention (something like 1,000).

You can call, write letters and sign in on their website. You can also order online and pick up at their LIC warehouse in the meantime.

Thanks for posting this! I too was told you only need 1000 people in any given area to get online or call and request service and they will start delivering. I love your idea and would be very happy to help however I can. I live in Bed-stuy and right now I call them about every month and ask all the drivers.

I know 56 people on my block who already talked about this last week in the block association meeting and would like to get involved. I can get them the info next meeting. Another 50+ on another block we have a house on through their block association. I think that is the way to go. Let me know if you need any help (amybeacom@yahoo.com)

I am the original poster here. I have sent e-mails to freshdirect in the past (and enouraged others to do so) - but I thought it was time to get organized and put together an e-mail (or paper) petition. Again, if people have thoughts on how to do it, that would be great. Again, feel free to e-mail me (or post here).

Do they do it by zip code? If so, Crown Heights North is also in 11216, so I'm in, as are several of my neighbors and friends. More power, the better.

I tmeant enough to our family that I have just started to pick up my orders in L.I.C. (I have to pass it on my way home) So, I am in if you want to organize a community effort!

I am SOOO Down. I'm in zip code 11221 on Lafayette Avenue. Let me know - I email those fools once a month...still nothing.

Those trucks will go right up lafayette in clinton hills and STOP right before they get to ME...UGH

Fresh Direct does deliver to me - my zip code is 11238. So I guess you really can't say they don't deliver to Bed-Stuy or maybe you could say that Bed-Stuy starts below Franklin or whatever...

They do delivery to parts of Bed-Stuy. Here is the breakdown by zip code:

11205 - yes
11238 - yes
11206 - certain areas
11211 - certain areas
11216 - no
11233 - no
11213 - no
