Polishing marble kitchen countertops

I am looking for someone to clean/re-polish or hone a beautiful marble kitchen countertop that was destroyed by a renter (I think most of the stains are due to acidic food). Any suggestions? Does anyone know about how much this should cost for about 30 square feet of marble? Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, marble is a poor choice for counters. It is soft and porous. It stains easily. That is why granite is used. It is hard. (it's hardness is next to that of a diamond) It is also why is is so expensive.
