Good Plasterer for Stairs

The walls of the hall/staircase in my Cobble Hill brownstone were covered with a hideous faux stucco something in the ‘60’s. The surface looks like a choppy ocean. Does anyone know a good plasterer who can skim coat them and/or repair old horsehair plaster that is beginning to crack? Many thanks

Aside from Lee & Ronnie, does anyone have any other recommendations that aren't their own companies?

Susa Lee of Alpha Carpenting or LGC lsited here is not a real contractor. She recently tried to rip us off to the tune of $16,750. She got away with $2,500 after pretending to work on our house for five weeks. We checked out her licence number when we became suspicious of her motives and discovered it belonged to a bankrupt second hand tire dealer. This can be verified with the Department of Consumer Affairs. We ended up calling the police to escort her and her equipment from the premises. Only after poointing out the illegality of trading under a fake license did she give us back half the $5k we gave her -- BEWARE

I highly recommend Cliff Plaster Restoration, at 189 Bond Street, (718) 643-6606. Good quality craftsmanship on flat plaster as well as moldings, dentils, etc. I've used him for medallion restoration/replication and wall/ceiling work whenever I've needed it over a course of many years, and recommended him to friends...everyone who hired Cliff and his crew on my recommendation has called to thank me.
