Landscape Designer

Hi,

I am the owner of a brooklyn brownstone, looking for a recommendation for a
landscape designer for the backyard. Heavy shade . ..

THANKS.

We just used John Rattigan at Root Stock & Quade in Park Slope (another recommendation from this site) and love what he has done. Well worth getting an estimate and an overview from him -- though it's a busy time of year for landscape gardeners.

We used Nancy Gould at 203-364-0308. She's out of Connecticut, but she likes to work in Brooklyn.

She did an amazing job in our shady and awkward backyard.

Also, there is the Annual Garden Walk of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Prospect Heights on Sunday. I bet you'll see some great gardens and get fantastic recommendations if you check it out. I found a flyer about it at Tillie's coffee shop on Dekalb.

Mike DiMezza mikedimezza@yahoo.com Wonderful gardener who moved here from Santa Fe 2 years ago...Focus is on sustainable landscape/gardening, water catchment, xeriscaping (if appropriate), and green roofs. He works for a highend company in Manhattan doing penthouse and backyard gardens but takes side jobs. Super smart guy who also has a masters in Eastern Philosophy so he really gets into the whole purpose of the garden when needed.
